Robert Reimer
PhD Candidate in Philosophy, University of Illinois Urbana‑Champaign
I'm interested in the human body — how it reaches, touches, grasps, holds, uses, embraces, and shapes the world we live in, and the way we think about it. I work mainly on the philosophy of action, philosophy of mind and the cognitive sciences, and continental philosophy, but I am also strongly interested in ethics, philosophy of language, and metaphysics. Apart from that, I translate philosophy from English into German and teach students how to confront and challenge their deep-seated assumptions. I also write fiction. I grew up and live in Germany, work in the US, and feel at home in both places.
